Bad Credit Mortgages

Filed under: Other Stuff — admin @ 6:34 am

With the stock market the way it is these days, and the worsening economics worldwide, there are many people who are looking for bad credit mortgages and different places to invest their money and one of those places may just be real estate.

Programs from the three branches of government will vary greatly in what they can do for homeowner but they’re all worth having a look at especially when you’re faced with a foreclosure, and have already looked at the other options.

The first step in avoiding foreclosure is to acknowledge the problem and no matter how stressful and hard it may be, you must admit that you have been late with your payments and something fast has to be done.

The largest buyers on the secondary market are the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA or Fannie Mae), the Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA or Ginnie Mae) and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC or Freddie Mac).

The best bet for many home owners is to talk to their lenders to make sure that all available avenues are being pursued to help owners stay in their homes.

When you refinance your home, you can withdraw equity (the difference between the value of the house and how much is owed) and you can use this equity to make payments on other bills and get back on your feet.

You can take advantage of the low mortgage interest rates as well as the abundant foreclosures on the market and buy a home to rent and your tenants will pay an amount that covers the mortgage, insurance, property taxes and other expenses.

Some states have judicial proceedings while others like California and Nevada have trustee’s sales that are held on the courthouse steps.

When you are buying foreclosed properties, you should make sure that you get a home inspection.

The type of home you are looking for will vary greatly depending on whether you plan to fix and sell the home, fix and rent it, fix and lease option it, or just wholesale it to another investor.
